Brachioplasty/Arm Lift to Remove Excess Skin After Weight Loss*

This is a 54 year old woman who was referred to Dr. Rao to discuss body contouring options. She had lost 140 lbs, her weight had been stable for around 6 months, and she had reached her goal weight. The loose skin on her arms were a concern of hers, and found it difficult to find clothes that fit her arms. After examining her, she had excess skin from her elbow to her chest wall on both sides. I decided she would be a great candidate for a bilateral brachioplasty. She underwent surgery at a surgery center in Tucson, AZ shortly after her consultation. In addition to the excision of her excess skin, I performed Liposuction to help enhance the contour of her upper arms. Her incisions for her brachioplasty were centered along the back of her arms as this allowed for the greatest amount of skin resection. These photos are 6 months apart from her surgery, and she is loving the new contour of her arms, feeling more comfortable than ever!
