Improved Contour of Abdomen with Abdominoplasty, Tummy Tuck in Tucson, AZ*

This is a 50 year old mother of three from Tucson, Arizona that had come to Rao Plastic Surgery to discuss options to improve the contour of her abdomen. She had three c-sections, but no other abdominal surgeries. After her initial examination we discussed her options. I felt that she would get the best result from a tummy tuck. She had minimal fat and I felt that liposuction would not be necessary. She underwent a tummy tuck at an outpatient surgery center in Tucson. In addition to excising her excess abdominal skin I plicated her abdominal muscles from her xiphoid to pubic bone. Exparel, a long acting local anesthetic, was injected into her muscle. She tolerated her procedure well and was discharged home from the surgery center. Her postoperative course was uneventful. Her JP drains placed at the time of surgery were removed within the first week of surgery. She is now four months out from her tummy tuck and is ecstatic with the way her abdomen looks.
