Abdominoplasty and Breast Implant Replacement with Macromastia Revision in AZ!*

This is a 56 year old female from Tucson who came for a consultation and was interested in removal of her saline breast implants and replacing them with silicone implants, as well as improving the contour of her abdomen. She had saline implants placed several years ago by a different surgeon. She had developed capsular contracture. In addition to exchanging the implants we planned on removing the scar tissue that was causing the distortion of her breasts. We discussed both procedures in great detail, as well as the difference between saline and silicone implants and the difference in projection/appearance. The possible risks and complications of both surgeries were reviewed as well and the patient agreed to move forward with the procedures. Shortly after, she underwent surgery at a surgery center in Tucson. I removed the original saline breast implants and removed her prior scar tissue and placed new 350 mL smooth, round, high profile Mentor MemoryGel Xtra silicone breast implants on both sides with the aid of a Keller Funnel. She also underwent circumferential liposuction with an abdominoplasty. At the time of her abdominoplasty I injected Exparel a long acting local anesthetic that lasts 72-96 hours. Her post-op journey has been worry-free and successful. She is 6 months out from her surgery and is so happy she had the surgery.
