Tummy tuck with 360 liposuction in Tucson, AZ

Procedure Details

This woman is a 34 year old mother of three that had come to Rao Plastic Surgery interested in a tummy tuck surgery. She had put on weight during her pregnancies, and had a very hard time getting all the weight off. Through a strict diet and exercise program she started to lose weight. She reached her goal weight, but still had excess skin and did not feel her body reflected all of the hard work she had put in to lose the baby weight. On her initial consultation I noted that she had a large rectus diastasis. Rectus diastasis is the separation of your rectus abdominis muscles at the midline. During pregnancy as the uterus grows, the abdomen has to accommodate the increasing size of the uterus and it does so by allowing the abdominal muscles to separate at the midline. She also had an excess of skin. Fortunately she did not have any hernias. After we reviewed her photos I felt she was an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction. I explained that in addition to removing the excess skin during the procedure we would repair her rectus diastasis which would give her a tighter, flatter and firmer abdomen. The liposuction would be an important adjunct to the tummy tuck because it would allow us to better contour her flanks and abdomen, removing additional fat. Her tummy tuck and liposuction was performed at an outpatient surgery center in Tucson, Arizona. I used power assisted liposuction to help give her a classic hour glass figure.
