Breast Augmentation, 375cc Silicone, for natural, fuller breast in Tucson, AZ*

This lady is a 25 year old woman living in Tucson, Arizona that come to Rao Plastic Surgery because she was interested in breast implants. She was a B cup and was hoping to be a full C cup. On physical exam she did not have any ptosis (drooping) of her breasts and the remainder of her exam was normal. We had a discussion about the types of breast implants available. I explained that silicone breast implants have a more natural feel and have less rippling (the ability to discern the outline of the breast implant in a patient’s chest) than saline breast implants. She elected to proceed with silicone breast implants. In the office she had tried on different implant sizers and liked the appearance of 375cc implants. Implant sizers are very helpful for patients in order to have a good estimation on what their breasts will look like after breast augmentation surgery. Her breast augmentation surgery was performed at an outpatient surgery center in Tucson, Arizona. I used an incision in her breast fold, beneath the breast, and placed 375 cc smooth, round, moderate profile plus Mentor breast implants in a subpectoral pocket. Her silicone breast implants were placed using a Keller Funnel. The Keller Funnel allows the implant to be inserted into the breast pocket using a smaller incision, and it also minimizes contamination by preventing the implant from touching the skin during placement. Her postoperative course was uneventful. She was back to work on light duty within three days.
