Breast Augmentation, 465 cc silicone implants in Tucson, AZ*

This 27-year-old woman came to Rao Plastic Surgery for a consultation to discuss a breast augmentation. She had been wearing A/B cup bras depending on the manufacturer and was interested in implants that would bring her up to a D cup. We discussed the procedure in detail. I recommended smooth, round, silicone implants placed subglandular, in front of the muscle. The woman tried on implant sizers and liked the appearance of 465 cc implants. She was also shown a 3D simulation of various implant sizes which confirmed her choice of 465 cc implants for her augmentation. Because her exam revealed that the distance between the woman’s nipple and her inframammary fold was short, I suggested lowering the fold in surgery to accommodate the implant. She had her augmentation at a surgery center in Tucson, AZ. After calculating the ideal nipple to fold distance, I made an incision at the level of the new fold. Using a Keller Funnel, 465 cc Mentor MemoryGel Xtra moderate profile plus silicone implants were placed subglandular through the incision for the lowered fold. Her surgery went well and she had an uneventful recovery. She is now four months out from her augmentation and is very pleased with her results.
