This woman is a 58 year old lady who had presented to our Tucson, Arizona office and was interested in a breast augmentation. She was a B cup and was interested in being a full C. She also did not like how her breasts had started to sag as she aged. She had been getting yearly mammograms which had all been normal and there was no family history of breast cancer. On exam she did not have any masses in her breast, but she did have ptosis (sagging) of her breasts. With the degree of sagging of her breast tissue, I explained that she would benefit from not only a breast augmentation to increase the volume of her breast, but she would also need a breast lift (mastopexy) to make sure her breast tissue and nipple areola complex would be centered over her breast and she would achieve all her aesthetic goals. She tried on several different Mentor implant sizers and liked the 300 cc implants the best. Her surgery was performed at an outpatient surgery center in Tucson, AZ. During her surgery I placed smooth round moderate profile plus 300 cc Mentor implants in a submuscular pocket. Then I proceeded with her breast lift during which I repositioned her nipple areola complex so it was centered over her breasts. Postoperatively she had an uneventful recovery. She wore a sports bra for six weeks. After six weeks she had no activity restrictions. She is now one year out from her surgery and loves the fuller and more youthful appearance of her breasts!
