Breast Reduction with Excision of Ectopic Breast Tissue in Tucson, Arizona*

This is a 49 year old female who came to see Dr. Rao for a consult regarding a breast lift, also known as Mastopexy. She had ptosis, or sagging of her breasts, and did not like the appearance of them. She was an F cup and wanted to keep the size but have them lifted. She also complained of excess axillary tissue and fullness that had been persistent all of her life and would become tender and painful often. After an in-depth evaluation, I felt she would be a good candidate for a breast lift and excision of what was believed to be ectopic breast tissue. The procedure was discussed in great detail, and soon after she underwent surgery at a surgery center in Tucson. I performed a Mastopexy, and removed her ectopic axillary tissue as well. A T-incision was used to allow for removal of the excess skin as well as reposition her nipple areola complex. The surgery went great, and her post-operative journey has been worry-free. It has now been almost 1 year since the procedure, and she has continued to love the appearance and comfortability of her new breasts!
