Breast Reduction from a G to D cup in Tucson, Arizona*

This is a 60 year old woman with hypertrophy and intertrigo in her breasts who was seeking a consultation for a breast reduction at Rao Plastic Surgery. She was wearing G cup bras and was hoping to have her breasts reduced to a D cup. She was experiencing chronic back, neck and shoulder pain caused by her large breasts. Our physical examination showed bra strap grooving as well as ptosis, or sagging, of her breasts. She had also been experiencing rashes in her inframammary fold that was adding to her discomfort. During her consultation, I believed she would be a great candidate for breast reduction surgery in order to help her achieve the comfort and appearance that she was searching for. Soon after, I performed the surgery at an outpatient surgery center in Tucson, AZ. The size of her breasts were already symmetrical, so the same amount of breast tissue was removed from each breast. She had a smooth post-operative course. It has now been over 2 years since her surgery, and is no longer experiencing the pain and discomfort that she had pre-operatively.
