This is a 58 year old woman Sierra Vista, AZ that came to Rao Plastic Surgery because she was interested in improving the appearance of her upper eyelids. Over time she had developed skin laxity in her upper eyelids. She felt her upper eyelids gave her a tired appearance and made her look older than her actual age. During her consultation at our Rao Plastic Surgery office in Tucson, AZ I learned that she did not have any prior problems of her eyes such as dry eyes, and she did not have any prior surgeries on her eyes such as Lasik. I typically recommend patients wait at least 6 months between their Lasik surgery and any eyelid rejuvenation procedures. On exam she redundant skin in her upper eyelids and it was affecting her peripheral vision. I felt she was a good candidate for an upper lid blepharoplasty or upper eyelid lift. She underwent an upper eyelid blepharoplasty as an outpatient. An incision was made in her upper eyelid and crease and excess skin was excised. She did well and was discharged home after a short stay in recovery. Her postoperative recovery was uneventful. On her fifth day after surgery her sutures were removed. She is now over a month out from surgery and loves that her eyes look refreshed instead of tired.
