At Cook County Hospital in Chicago, one of the nation’s busiest burn centers, I encountered cases that shaped my resilience and empathy. I not only honed my surgical skills but also solidified my role as a leader, earning the Academic Achievement award in plastic surgery and the position of chief resident.
